Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2, 2026

TestMax ("we," "us," or "our") operates the test-max.com website and the TestMax trading backtesting platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.

By accessing or using TestMax, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the service.

Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly and information gathered automatically when you use TestMax.

Account Information

  • Email address and username when you create an account (or your Google account email and profile picture if you sign up with Google)
  • Password (stored in hashed form; we never store plain-text passwords)
  • Subscription plan and billing status

Usage Data

  • Backtesting sessions, trades, and performance metrics you generate
  • First-party activity records stored in our own database: pages you visit within the app, features you use (e.g. starting a replay, placing a simulated order), session duration and activity heartbeats — each recorded together with your IP address and browser user-agent string
  • Security and audit events (e.g. logins, password changes) with IP address, retained for security purposes
  • Device type, browser, and operating system

Cookies and Browser Storage

  • Authentication cookies to keep you signed in
  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand how the platform is used — set only if you consent via the cookie banner
  • Browser local storage to remember your settings and preferences on your device

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the TestMax platform
  • Process your account registration and manage your subscription
  • Send transactional emails such as password resets and billing receipts
  • Analyze usage trends to improve features and user experience
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
  • Respond to your support requests and inquiries

Third-Party Services

We share information with a limited number of third-party providers that help us run TestMax:

  • Google Analytics — We use Google Analytics to measure site traffic and understand usage patterns. Google may collect your IP address and use cookies. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Razorpay — Our payment processor handles subscription billing and payment transactions on our behalf. Razorpay collects and stores your payment card details in accordance with PCI-DSS standards; we never store your full card number on our servers. See Razorpay's Privacy Policy.
  • ZeptoMail — We use ZeptoMail to send transactional emails such as account verification, password resets, and billing notifications.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account data and trading history for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, it is deactivated immediately and held for a 72-hour restore window in case the deletion was accidental. After that window, your personal data is permanently deleted or irreversibly anonymized — in any case within 30 days of your request — with two exceptions required or permitted by law:

  • Billing and payment records are retained as required for tax and accounting compliance
  • Security and audit logs are retained for up to 1 year, as required by applicable Indian data protection rules, and then deleted

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Deletion — Request that we delete your account and associated personal data.
  • Export — Request a machine-readable export of your data, including trading history and performance metrics.
  • Correction — Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Restriction and objection — Ask us to restrict, or object to, certain processing of your data (where applicable, e.g. under the GDPR).
  • Opt-out — Unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time using the link in each email.
  • Complain — Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (for EU/UK users) or with the Data Protection Board of India.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@test-max.com.

Cookies

TestMax uses cookies and similar technologies to authenticate users, remember preferences, and analyze traffic. You can control cookie behavior through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect your ability to use certain features of the platform.

Children's Privacy

TestMax requires users to be at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a person under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

Data Controller and Grievance Officer

The data controller (data fiduciary) responsible for your personal data is Jiroven Private Limited, a company registered in Karnataka, India.

For data protection and consumer grievances, contact our grievance redressal team at support@test-max.com with the subject line "Grievance". Grievances are acknowledged within 48 hours and resolved within one month of receipt.

Where Your Data Is Stored & International Transfers

Your data is stored on servers located in Germany (European Union), operated by our hosting provider Hetzner. Because TestMax serves users globally, your data is transferred to and processed in the EU regardless of where you are located. For users in India, this cross-border transfer is permitted under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, which allows transfers to countries not restricted by the Central Government. For users in the EU/UK, your data is processed within the EU.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS/SSL), hashed passwords, and secure server infrastructure to protect your data. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and absolute security cannot be promised.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by sending an email notification. Your continued use of TestMax after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
